Tickets for Business Strategy Mastermind™ Conference 2022, which will be held from October 25-26 at the Sheraton Park Hotel in Anaheim, CA, are also on sale now!!
Buyer Agents:
Be patient and likable. Buyers especially are drawn to agents with whom they think they’ll get along, so communicate well and let them know you’ll be there for them to both answer their questions and support them in the home-buying process.
Team Leaders & Broker/Owners:
The team is not all about you. Your role is to empower the team to achieve its collective goals and to enable individuals to achieve their individual goals. The heart of leadership is service – ask yourself how you can better serve the team.
Admin:
If you’re starting at a new company, research the company before you start. Understand the company’s goals, mission, culture, and audience. This way you’ll hit the ground running, and your team leader will see you take the role seriously. If you’re looking to improve in your current role, the advice still applies: get as good as you can at what you do. In addition, understand what others do so you can better do what you do (all roles are interconnected!).
Listing Agents:
Given the nature of your duties, you have the freedom to set your schedule as you like. Be available and don’t eliminate business for yourself by limiting yourself to fewer hours, but set boundaries (for family/personal time, e.g.) and stick to them to avoid burnout.
Recruiting:
If you receive a candidate referral – especially if a current team member provides that referral – treat the candidate with due respect by association. If your current team member was good enough to hire, chances are his/her friend is a culture fit, too. If you treat the candidate poorly or provide them with too little attention, your team members will not heed calls for referrals in the future and you’ll hamper the team’s prospects by limiting its field of recruits.

I fancy myself an author and am working on a couple of novels.
Book of the Month
Made in America – Sam Walton
Quote of the Week:
“Team athletics remained a big part of my life all through high school…. [By] ninth grade…I was able to make the team as a second-string quarterback. I was still small – only about 130 pounds – but I knew a lot about blocking and tackling and throwing the ball, and by being extremely competitive I got my letter.” – Sam Walton
